2013 Committee Structure

Includes planning the:
Annual Meeting (November 6-8, 2013)
Solicit bids, plan, organize and promote the 2013 annual meeting with a goal of 75 participants. Focus of the conference designed to look at critical issues facing chamber management.
MAKO 2014 Conference Task Force
Mita Bates (Co-Chair 2014), Ruth Littlefield (2012 Co-Chair); Lisa Navrkal, Sara Sciara
This task force will act at the direction of the OCCE Chair and will work to coordinate a Spring 2014 Regional Conference with Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas representatives (MAKO).
Awards and Scholarships

Recognize excellence in chamber management by selecting the Shelia Lee Executive of the Year, Outstanding Chamber Leader and Hall of Fame award winners with presentation at the Annual Meeting.
Identify and select individuals to receive scholarships for OCCE programs; the Institute for Organization Management, ACCE, MAKO and the Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence.
Lisa Friden, Tracy Mosley, Rich Cantillon, Mita Bates, Matt Pivarnik
Responsible for recommending candidates to serve as officers and members of the board of directors for the year 2014.
Annually review and make approved changes to the OCCE Bylaws.
Chamber Management Institute (CMI)
Suzanne Shirey and Wes Smithwick, Co-Chairs
Plan and coordinate with OCCE staff, program content and speakers. CMI is held one day a month for four consecutive months in the spring and the fall. This program trains new professionals in the industry. Graduates from this course are recognized at the Annual Conference.
Membership Recruitment Programs and Retention Committee
Tracy Mosley (Chair of the Board)
Recruit new local chamber involvement throughout Oklahoma, while retaining the existing membership base. Utilize OCCE programs and members to promote benefits and member services of the organization with strong emphasis on retention.
Center For Chamber of Commcerce Excellence (March of Each Year)
Rich Cantillon (2012-13 Chair and OCCE Representative)
The Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence has been established to provide the skills needed to enhance the value of a chamber ina local business community. This program is designed to address much of the basic information one would need to successfully operate a local chamber of commerce.
Matt Pivarnik (2010 OCCE President)
This committee will act at the direction of the President and will work with the State Chamber’s Controller to review and audit the financial records of OCCE on an annual basis.
Quarterly Educational Webinars

Rich Cantillon, Chair
Plan and develop a program that would result in volunteer leaders of local chambers having a better understanding of their roles. These workshops will be targeted to officers, executives and directors of local chambers with a goal of having 4-6 workshops across the state of Oklahoma on a yearly basis.
Chamber Consulting Services
OCCE provides the following services:
- Provide a list of contacts upon request for counseling services
- Mentoring, designed to assist each new chamber executive
- Publish a Wage and Benefit Survey every other year (2014 renewal year)
* Career Bulletin: Job postings mailed to members and posted on our web site.
* Resource Library – contact OCCE staff for samples of bylaws, job descriptions, etc.
